FRICTION FOLDER DESIGN : The Prylobite folding
mechanism is based on the traditional "friction folder" knife design.
Simple and effective, there is no lock or detent holding the blade open
or closed, simply the friction tension of the knife pivot.
Traditionally, the short extension off the back of the blade tang is
used both for one-handed opening, as well as to prevent an open blade
from closing, by applying thumb pressure along the handle spine. Our
Prylobite design is unique in that we've incorporated multiple other
useful functions into this tang extension.
SUSPENSION CLIP : The Suspension Clip function allows
the Prylobite to effectively streamline your EDC keychain, rather than
add cumbersome bulk. Hanging from a pocket edge, your keys lay
conveniently inline with your pocket for easy retrieval. For a quick
place to stash them, the Prylobite effortlessly slides onto a
beltloop.
SAFE KEYCHAIN CARRY: The Prylobite has an innovative
attachment point that locks the blade closed when attached to a
keychain, and prevents the blade from accidentally opening. The
attachment point is designed to work with Nite Ize S-Biner MicroLock, or
size #0.5 or #1 steel S-Biner.
BOTTLE OPENER : The Prylobite features the same
efficient, but tiny bottle opener claw geometry of other bottle opener
products we have produced. This geometry was specifically developed to
be a 'first try' cap lifter, while occupying minimal real estate on our
EDC items.
PRYBAR / FLATHEAD SCREWDRIVER : A prybar tool is one of those EDC items you
don't realize how often you will find useful, until you have one in your
pocket. How often have you been tempted to use a knife blade to pry
something, even though you (hopefully) know better? We've incorporated
this functionality into the tip of the tang extension to save you from
the embarrassment of a broken knife tip.
1/4" WRENCH : The hexagonal hole at the end of the
tang extension can be used to get a grip on 1/4" nuts, or even some
extra leverage on a hex driver bit.
COMPACT DESIGN: Weighing as little as only 4 quarters,
and shorter than many car keys, the Prylobite will feel right at home
dangling from your keys, and will go virtually unnoticed until a task
requires it. Furthermore, the unassuming size and lack of locking blade
make it an excellent choice in some localities with more restrictive
knife law.
